Founding Product Designer

About the Role: --------------- As a designer at Nell, you'll collaborate closely with a small team of engineers and content designers to craft the product experiences of today and tomorrow. You'll work on end-to-end feature design and help define the next generation of media experiences. What You'll Do: --------------- * Contribute to the overall design and product direction of Nell's platforms * Design and ship high-quality features and improvements, from early concepts to high-fidelity production software * Create highly-detailed design specifications in Figma * Partner closely with engineering, product, and design peers to define both long-term strategy and short-term tactics * Engage in user research to better understand our users and continuously refine our products * Own and evolve our design system * Help establish our design culture and support team growth * Explore new tools and technologies to continuously improve ways of working We're Looking for Someone Who: ------------------------------ * Has a portfolio showcasing strong UX, UI, and interaction design skills, with a high bar for quality and craft * Is well-versed in AI tools, incorporating AI into daily workflows, and keeps on top of the shifting landscape * Understands AI generation tools (i.e. ElevenLabs Studio, Suno, Midjourney, etc) * Has experience designing consumer products * Loves thinking through complex interaction-design problems * Has great communication skills * Enjoys tackling ambiguous problems and shaping them into something clear * Is excited to help define how AI-first products should look and behave Strong Candidates May Have -------------------------- * Experience with, or interest in, image, audio, and video prompting and creation workflows * Experience with or interest in motion design * Understanding of the differences between native platforms (iOS, Android, web, CarPlay, etc.) Benefits -------- * Based 5-days a week out of our office in San Francisco, we love the energy of in-person collaboration. * Competitive Salary and Equity * Comprehensive Medical, Vision, and Dental care * Flexible PTO Policy * Lunch and Dinner Service * Wellness Benefit * Mental Health Services * 401(k) Retirement Plan * Pre-Tax Commuter Benefit for Parking & Public Transit * Company-wide Retreats
