Industrial Designer

### Job description Roll & Hill is looking for a mid-level industrial designer with 3-5 years of experience, a high degree of technical aptitude in product design, and an appreciation for high-quality lighting and furniture. You will report to the Design Director and work with the design team to shepherd design concepts from exploratory sketch through to production-ready assemblies. Responsibilities: \+ Develop and present conceptual, in-progress, and refined designs across our product range, including material selections, finishes, construction details, and end-user installation processes. \+ Receive and interpret design sketches and concepts to develop into coherent product lines. \+ Communicate color, form, and mechanical concepts to the rest of the design team. \+ Create clear, well-organized design presentations that communicate finished designs to the marketing, sales, and engineering teams. \+ Manage professional communications, projects, milestones and deadlines. \+ Build mockups and prototypes using various media (foam, 3D printing, off the shelf parts, etc.) \+ Create dimensioned 2D technical drawings and detailed 3D SolidWorks part and assembly models ready for engineering handoff. \+ Assist in assembly, installation, and modification of prototype fixtures. Requirements: \+ Industrial design, product design or related degree. \+ 3-5 years professional experience in product design/development. \+ Experience in lighting construction and furniture fabrication is preferred. \+ SolidWorks proficiency, including part modeling, surfacing, drawing creation. \+ Comfort in creative suite, spreadsheets, and creating presentations. \+ You are comfortable with shop tools and can put together mechanical assemblies. \+ Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines concurrently. Qualities We're Looking For: \+ Ability to both offer and accept clear, constructive feedback. \+ Able to iterate on designs quickly and incorporate revisions without losing momentum. \+ Visually and verbally analyze designs regarding form, color, and concept, and communicate their strengths and weaknesses. \+ Excellent team communication skills. \+ Positive and professional attitude with a willingness to learn. \+ Ability to physically handle fragile objects, including glass, marble, and ceramics with care.
